Lean thinking, a culture of continuous improvement, and people-centered processes. These are the cornerstones of Marcegaglia Oskar’s production philosophy as described by Luca Ruggeri, the company’s Lean Manager. His strategic role brings together method and innovation to create value at every stage of the process.
“Marcegaglia Oskar is deeply rooted in its local territory but recognized globally for its production capabilities. What sets us apart is our ability to take on any project, improve it through our technical office, and transform it into a fully industrialized solution,” Ruggeri explains.
The operating model is driven by three clear objectives: reducing time, optimizing costs, and increasing quality. How is this achieved? “Through rigorous attention to what we call the 4 M’s: man power, machine, materials, and methods.” Each area is managed with precision. Skills are shared and developed across all levels of the organization, from leadership to line operators. Processes are standardized and supported by detailed instructions. Machines are continuously upgraded—an example being the introduction of electrostatic paint booths that enhance final product finish.
The adoption of lean manufacturing has brought a widespread shift in mindset. “Today it’s not just about reducing waste, but actively involving all operators in quality and efficiency improvements.”
For Ruggeri, the company’s strength lies not only in its technologies, but in its people. “Our competitive edge comes from the synergy between expertise, structured processes, and a shared culture of improvement.”
